New Team with a "bonus"

I have reluctantly looked for a new Soccer team ever since I got released from the Dr.'s supervision for my ACL reconstruction. Cobb County has an over 40 league and that is perfect for me... I have sent in a couple emails and finally got a call back about a "try-out" tonight.

I really didn't like the condescending attitude of the Player Coordinator and the League Administrator. Fucking Soccer affluent. We started a scrimmage with a mix of D1, D2, D3 and Over 40's and I was playing center Back. Stuff a shot here, out jump a 23 yr old for a header on a corner kick, direct traffic with the other backs and I get a call from the sideline. The Administrator says - you want to play Over 40, yep. She intorduces me to an English guy whos looking for players. They are getting ready for a scrimmage. Kool, I am in.

We play a decent team but pound them 7-2, no assists for your humble narrator but I felt great back out on the pitch. I play well but am not in game shape. I take a knee when needed, take my self out when too tired. These guys are Kool, couple good players, Goalie is OK and we all seem to get along. The English guy said he would email me this week and I look like a lock for the team - KOOL...

What about the BONUS I mentioned - let me tell you... After the game we head to the parking lot, one of the guys says hey I have a cooler in the trunk come on over for a beer. Ding, ding, ding - did he say beer... Great!!! My kind of guys. B U T that isn't the BONUS. The BONUS is, the guy works for the Budweiser plant in Cartersville, Ga. You work for who? Budweiser, I'm the manager of the Tasting Room. Exqueeze Me? You taste beer for a living... Yeah, I have a cooler full of samples for every game... Did I die and go to Heaven? Not only do these guys drink beer but they SUPPLY the beer... Fucking A!!! I had a Michelob Martzen beer, Amber Bock, and a couple Mich. Light tall boys.

I am not always a big Bud guy but I think my tastebuds can be converted... The best kind of beer - FREE BEER!!!!
