Go, Ga. Dome....

Thru my travels I have plenty of time to listen to talk radio. Shit I know more about Alabama politics than I do Ga... Listening to Sports Talk out of B'ham i hear that Duke is giving up a home game in 2010 so that the Duke vs. Alabama will be played @ the Ga. Dome.
Since Duke's stadium only holds about 40k it makes good economic sense to move the game to, double the attendance, broaden your recruiting tract, and allow those rednecks from AL to come see the game.
The Ga. Dome sports commission is trying to get a number of these "off-site" games:
Florida vs. Vandy (Vandy would have to give up a home game)
Tennessee vs. Mississippi St. (Miss. St would give up a home game)

Tough thing is they will have to prey on the smaller/ less successful football schools in order to entice them to give up a home game. The "big time" schools will not give up a home game because the home stadiums are bigger than the Ga. Dome. Perfect example is Clemson vs. Auburn. This is a matchup that I have wanted for years (very similar schools in: location, size, history, colors, mascots, etc) But neither school is willing to give up a home game as both stadiums hold >85,000 fans. I would love to see it but it is doubtful.

The Dome has been doing this for years, bringing in the HBC colleges to play off-site games. I'm sorry this is a whole other level of football: Kentucky vs. LSU is a much better game than Howard vs. Southern...
